Cherrydale

Cherrydale, located in North Arlington, was first settled by small farmers in the 1780s, was given its name in 1893, for all the cherry trees in its bounds. It is a small neighborhood, neatly kept, mostly older, single family homes.  Cherrydale still retains its “small hometown feeling,” despite the fact that it is only three and one half miles from Washington DC.  They have a growing retail/restaurant area, an active Citizens Association (www.cherrydale.net), a bi-monthly newsletter, many historic and interesting old homes, and the oldest Volunteer Fire Station in Arlington County!  Walk to Virginia Square Metro, Safeway Grocery, Arlington Science Focus and Washington-Lee High Schools, and Cherrydale’s shops and gourmet restaurants.  Easy access to the District via I-66, Lee Highway, and the GW Parkway, as well as to all suburban destinations.
